Do you already know that your existence—who and how you are—is in and of itself a contribution to the people and place around you? Not after or because you do some particular thing, but simply the miracle of your life. And that the people around you, and the place(s), have contributions as well? Do you understand that your quality of life and your survival are tied to how authentic and generous the connections are between you and the people and place you live with and in?

Listening is where love begins: listening to ourselves and then to our neighbors. As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has or ever will have something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.
(Mr.) Fred Rogers

The role of the cultural worker is to discern, nurture, cultivate, and encourage the existing culture of a place. A project, no matter how small, can help people and their places work better together. Our sum is a minor sun and it lands lucky horseshoe side up, every time.
